

Through various real-life scenarios and theme-based activities in the curriculum, students will strengthen all four basic language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
For students at the Intermediate Level or higher, there are also elective courses that may be selected depending on personal goals and interests. These courses cover a range of topics, including assistance in preparing for the next level of schooling, business skills, Japanese culture, kanji etc.

| Advanced Intermediate 2 | Understands social issues and can state one's own opinion. Other than in formal situations, has the ability to communicate without any difficulty |
| Advanced 1 | Can state one's opinion and reasoning on various topics. Can carry out a conversation with consideration to others’feelings and position. |
| Advanced 2 | Can understand most of what the Japanese read and hear on a day-to-day basis. Responds in Japanese that is appropriate for the speaker’s position and situation. |
