7.Mr. Lara's Folk-Tales/Fairy Tales Reading-Writing Workshop & Reader's Theater 【July 6th to July 10th】

Students will read different types of folk-tales and fairy tales. Within the week, the students will write their own folk-tale or fairy tale, and the best one will be selected to be performed as a Reader's Theater presentation to parents on the last day

Time: 9:00A.M. - 3:00P.M.

8.Mt. Fuji Program 【July 6th - July 10th】 ** For TYIS Students Only **

This is a five day program including a field trip to Mt. Fuji. On the first day, students will have an orientation session at school, to prepare for the field trip. On the second and the third day, they will travel to Mt. Fuji. It will be an overnight program. All students will climb up to the 8th station and stay over at a mountain hut. On the third day, one group will try to climb up to the top, and another group will enjoy the hiking course, instead of going to the top. For the last day, students will gather at school and practice for the final presentation which will be held on Friday.

For: TYIS Student Only Grades 1 to 6
Cost: 79,920yen (program fee, accommodation, 2 nights 6 meals, and transportation fees from Shinjuku to Mt. Fuji, tax included)
Teachers: Ms. Robbins and TYIS teachers and staff

The information session will be held on June 11th (Thur) at 13:30 to 15:00.

9. Mr. Lara's Shadow Puppet Theater 【July 13th to July 17th 】

Students will be introduced to shadow puppet theatre through videos, read samples of stories, and select a story to perform. Each student will then create their own shadow puppets, and a shadow puppet box theater. Individual shadow puppet performances will be presented to parents on the last day.
