Tuition and Scholarship

School Fees 2027-2028

The full Application Fee is required before or on the day of the interview.

All accepted applicants are responsible for paying the Entrance Fee and the School Development Fee, regardless of date of entering or withdrawing from the program. This amount is non-refundable.

Tuition is due 10 business days after acceptance is formally issued. An invoice for this amount will be included with the applicant's Letter of Acceptance. Registration is considered complete only after all fees have been paid. The student's 1st day of school will be 14 days after remuneration of all fees and tuition. For applicants who are accepted after June 1st, tuition is due immediately upon acceptance.

Tuition can be paid by either single payment or via installments. Please Note: Tuition Fees are charged annually to all students who attend TYIS. No refund for the term will be issued after a term has begun.

Note: Tuition paid via installments is subject to an administration fee. The due dates for installment payments are as follows:

* Administration fee is ¥15,400 per term (10% Consumption tax is included).

Applicants who register during a mid-term period will be charged a prorated percentage of the tuition for that term.

In compliance with local laws and standards a 10% consumption tax will be charged on all costs.
Students who withdraw before the end of the academic year will be refunded the tuition for the term in which they will not be attending. No refund will be issued for withdrawal from the school after a term has begun.

In the case of a sibling requiring admission, the second child will receive a 10% discount on the tuition fee. The third child will receive a 50% discount, also only on the tuition fee.

Essay

Each candidate is required to write an essay entirely of the candidate's original work. The essay topic is "Maximize Your Potential." Write about how receiving the TYIS Scholarship will help you fulfill your dreams and achieve your academic goals.

The Technical Criteria for the essay are; is:

  • 1- Must be original work
  • 2- Must be 500 and 1000 words, double spaced in length.
  • 3- Written in a Word document with 12 point font and numbered pages.
  • Inclusive of the above is a title page for your essay with the following information:

    • A) Title of Essay
    • B) Date of Submission
    • C) Name of Scholarship
    • D) Name of School
    • E) Your Name

Overview

  • 1- Each applicant should submit all regular application forms, required documents, and additionally submit any supporting evidence to be considered during the TYIS Scholarship awarding process.
  • 2- Only 1 successful candidate will be chosen per year. Without a successful candidate no Scholarships may be awarded.
  • 3- Without a successful candidate no Scholarships may be awarded.
  • 4- Families will need to pay full fees initially and will receive a reimbursement for the amount of the Scholarship after the enrollment process is finished.
  • 5- The Entrance Scholarship financial award is a one-time award of 200,000JPY.
  • 6- Students who receive the entrance Scholarship are not eligible for additional financial award and/or Scholarship.

Decisions

All decisions by the school administration are final and not subject to appeal.
