TYIS Seasonal Program - A Fun & Engaging Learning Adventure!

Welcome to Summer Adventures at Tokyo YMCA International School!

Get ready for a summer filled with fun, learning, and new experiences! The Summer Adventures Program offers a unique blend of academic exploration, hands-on STEM & STEAM activities, second or third language learning, and swimming lessons in a safe, supportive environment. Your child will also have the opportunity to become an Impact Maker for Change!

Program Dates: June 30 - July 4, July 7 - 11, 14 - 18
Hours: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (Extension Program Available!)


Program Overview
What We Offer:

 • STEM & STEAM Labs: Engage your child in interactive and educational labs where science, technology, engineering, art, and math come together.
 • Secondary Languages: Fun and immersive language lessons to spark curiosity in a second language.
 • Swimming: Weekly swimming lessons in our heated pool. Parents must provide swimming gear for their children.
 • Impact Makers for Change: Develop leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills through various hands-on activities.

*Mt. Fuji Program

Grades: Grade 1 - Grade 9
Mt. Fuji participants must speak English.
Number of Students: 8 student minimum/ 15 Student Maximum
Location: G4A (Mon & Fri), Mt. Fuji (Tues, Wed, & Thurs)
(Fees & Equipment will be extra for this program)
On campus lunch service is not available

This is a five-day program, which includes a 3-day/ 2-night field trip to Mt. Fuji. On the first day, students will have an orientation session at school and prepare for the field trip. On the second, third, and fourth day, they will climb Mt. Fuji. All students will climb up to the 8th station and stay overnight at the mountain huts. For the final day (Friday), students will gather at school and create their final project.

<Basic Schedule for 5 days>

Day 1: at TYIS: Mt. Fuji Lessons (Bring ALL Hiking supplies)

Day 2: (Early Morning) Meet at Shinjuku Station; highway bus to Station 5; climb to Station 7 (Stay overnight at Hut)

Day 3: Climb to Station 8 (Stay overnight at Hut)

Day 4: Climb to the Top (or Station 9); hike down to Station 5; highway Bus back to Tokyo (Parents pick up students at Shinjuku Station)

Day 5: at TYIS: Fuji Presentations (Create/Present)

* Schedule may change due to weather.

COST: 90,200JPY



Age Groups & Class Structure

Classes are organized by grades to ensure a personalized learning experience:

 ・Cubs (K5 - Grade 2)
 • Wolves (Grade 3 - Grade 6)
 • Alphas (Grade 7 - Grade 9) - may join Wolves program if only a few sign up.



Lunches and Snacks

 • Fresh, Daily Lunch Options:
 Lunches are provided by Cezars Kitchen and delivered fresh each day. We offer a varied menu with options for international students.

Please Note: Lunch orders must be for the entire week, and no refunds will be given for missed meals. *Mt. Fuji Program students are not eligible for on campus meal service.

 • Afternoon Snack (Extended Services): Parents must provide a snack if your child attends extended services from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm



Extended Services

For working families, we offer Extended Services from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm each day, Monday through Friday. This program provides additional care and engaging activities for your child.
 • Sign Up: Extended services must be booked for full days, hourly sign-ups are not available.



Program Fees:
 • Non-TYIS Members: ¥63,250 / week
 • TYIS / KG Members: ¥55,000 / week
*Mt. Fuji Program: ¥90,200 (Must speak English)

Optional Add-Ons:
 • Lunch:
  o Small: ¥4,600 / 5 days
  o Large: ¥4,850 / 5 days
 • Extended Services:
  o ¥3,300 / day (3:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

Seasonal Wear:
 • One T-Shirt will be given as a participation gift.
 • Additional shirts can be purchased.
 • The seasonal shirt is required during program hours.

Once you've registered, you'll receive instructions on how to submit payment via bank transfer.
 • Sign-up Deadline: May 23rd, Friday. Additional signups taken until June 13th, Friday.
 • Payment Due: June 20th, Friday

Refund Policy

We understand that plans can change, and we offer a flexible refund policy:

 ・8+ days before the program start date: 100% refund
 ・1-7 days before the program start date: 70% refund
 ・Same day (before 9:00 am): 50% refund
 ・After 9:00 am: No refund

Refunds are processed within 2-3 weeks and are subject to a transfer fee.
