Happy Halloweenie!!!

Happy Halloweenie!
On Friday, October 29th, we celebrated Halloween here at TYIS. Everyone dressed up in their favorite character/costume and went around the YMCA building and our neighborhood, such as Daiei Corporation, Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company and the Senior Citizens House, shouting, "Trick or Treat!" The highlight of the whole event was the Haunted House. Some students went on more than once while others were too scared to go in.
We would like to thank everyone who was involved in making this a memorable day, especially for the students. Special thanks to the PTA for organizing such a scary Haunted House! It gave us a scare that we would remember for a long time.

Here is a little history about Halloween, one of the most popular celebrations that are recognized all over the world today.
It is an annual holiday observed on the 31st of October, primarily in Ireland, United States, Canada, and Scotland. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holiday All Saints' Day, but is today largely a secular celebration.
The word Halloween is first attested in the 16th century and represents a Scottish variant of the fuller All-Hallows-Even, that is, the night before All Hallows Day.
We look forward to seeing you all again at our annual Halloween celebration!
